The presentation of the new, reconstructed, the site of Irkutsk Oblast Regional Museum will be held at the following address: Str. Proletarskaya 7, of.7 (company «TochkaRu») on 9 February at 17.00.
Reconstruction of the site was made possible through a joint project of Irkutsk regional museum and the agency «TochkaRu» (www.irk-studio.ru). In the museum's new site design and navigation changes. In addition, new advanced interactive communications with visitors to the site, such as: a news column, filled with constant information, use of the museum's Forum, where anyone can ask your question to experts on the history and nature of Baikal, the activities of the museum, and another possibility immersion in the virtual halls of the museum, thanks to the support of the company «symbionts» (www.stereoscope.ru). Virtual tours for all divisions of the museum include a detailed description of the collections presented at the exhibition, photographs of the most interesting exhibits.
In addition, visitors can find a unique and interesting information on various subjects of Siberian regional studies in the electronic book-book «Regional notes», which is annually supplemented by new scientific evidence.

The site of the oldest provincial museum, the Irkutsk Regional Local Lore was founded in 2000 by means of the Soros Foundation. This was the first museum site in eastern Siberia.
